Chinchilla Cages Get the Right Size

There are many different styles and sizes of cages chinchilla on the market. But how do you know what size to buy?

Height
Be aware of this because some cages do not really provide enough height for chinchilla. Chinchillas are known to jump and climb everywhere, so the cage must be high enough to activate your chinchilla to jump up and down, climbing and exercise themselves. Think parrot cage, not the hamster cage. And like a bird prefers to be at the top, do chinchillas. So having a cage with a good height and placement of shelves and ladders away for the year, entertainment and rest.

Width and depth
Width Chinchilla cages is not as important as the height, but of course is much more room to move around in. If your chinchilla you can afford a large cage in all its dimensions, then it is. Your chinchilla will love to own a big house. Aim for at least one area of the ballpark of 24 “wide by 24″ deep, if you can.

Construction
You can get varieties of cages in plastic frames and metal. Metal frame is better because it is easier to clean and cannot be eaten. Chinchillas love to chew things, so a plastic frame or a frame covered with plastic is a particular target. If you get your chinchilla a plastic cage, do not be surprised if you soon to replace it. The metal cages are easier to wipe clean.
